Introducing: Rissa Williams

This person really needs no introduction, as by now you have probably seen or heard of Rissa and the influence she has had on this organization. She was one of the first musicians to be in year one of the Artist Grants Program, and since then we have partnered up in a myriad of ways to bring light and love to the Rochester music scene. I was describe Rissa’s greatest talent as her authenticity. Her music and her work are so relatable because there is no doubt you are getting the whole truth of who she is and what she stands for. On top of that - she is a bad ass creative who sings, raps, and plays several different instruments. Rissa now spear heards our after school music programs for teens, as well as shadows all program aspects of LSC in this new role she writes about below - Ray

As a program intern and former grant recipient, I've had the opportunity to witness firsthand the amazing work that this organization does to support aspiring musicians and bring the joy of music to different communities.

One of the things I absolutely love doing as a part of this organization is leading music makers workshops. It's such a rewarding experience to teach children about music and see their faces light up as they discover their own musical talents. We sing, dance, and create music together, and it's truly awesome to witness the joy and enthusiasm that music brings to these young minds.

We come together and share the magic of music, whether it's through singing their favorite songs, exploring different musical styles, or even creating our own songs. It's an incredible feeling to see the children's confidence grow as they express themselves through music.

I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this organization and make a positive impact through music. It's truly a privilege to share my passion with these children and inspire them to explore the world of music. Together, we're creating beautiful melodies and unforgettable memories.
