Empowering New and Young Artists.

Growing the local music scene means bringing in new voices and allowing them to share their sound. Working with kids and young folks is the first step in finding these artists who will inevitably be leaders and participants in their own music communities.

Music Makers Program

  • Our most sought after program, we bring music teachers directly into daycares and youth development centers that often don’t have musically trained staff on their teams.

  • Designed for kids ages 2-6, the goal is to enrich kids with the possibilities of music through song, dance, and instrument practices.

  • Classes include fun and interactive learning and participation through music. And our teachers come right to your location to make it happen.

  • We use a sliding scale model to accept payment for these programs. That means folks pay what they can to attend. No questions asked! If you need 100% scholarship, use the code “FREE,” and if you need 50% off use the code “HALF” at checkout. We believe everyone should have access to this educational opportunity.

Individual Lessons

  • We currently offer guitar, ukulele, and vocal lessons primarily for kids ages 3-17. We also offer a similar but different curriculum for any individual 17+ who is looking to learn/develop one of these practices.

  • Our lessons are offered at a sliding scale rate, meaning you pay what you can (tons of scholarship aid available!) Our baseline price is $30 for a 30 min lesson. That rate and time can be adjusted based on you or your child’s needs. Email Ray for more info on lessons at ray@thelocalsoundcollaborative.org

Artist Visits

  • Our artists will come visit schools, daycares, camps, and other community organizations to share about their practice. These interactive presentations will talk about what it means to be an independent musician, offer ideas on how to start your own band, and of course, include a private performance for your listening pleasure!

  • Email Ray to set up an artist visit at ray@thelocalsoundcollaborative.org
